This is because very dark skin has a considerable amount of pigment (melanin) and will absorb more light then the skin can handle, therefore it can potentially burn, discolour or scar your skin. Thanks to our clever sensor, Bare won’t release energy unless it’s safe to do so, but we do always recommend giving yourself a quick zap patch test first.
